EXPLORE CHICAGO’S KENWOOD NEIGHBORHOOD
A crowned jewel of Chicago’s South Side, Kenwood is home to mansions, parks, museums, and a rich history. Originally a refuge for the Chicago elite, the mansions of Kenwood are truly a sight to behold, with architecture ranging from Art Deco to Gothic. This neighborhood offers incredible lake views without the congestion of the downtown atmosphere.
With CTA bus lines and its own Metra stop, Kenwood is an accessible slice of cultural heaven. The Hyde Park Art Center remains a beacon of creativity and expression, and displays some of the most gifted young talent in art today. The streets are lined with famous homes, including those of Muddy Waters and Muhammed Ali. However, Kenwood’s most famous, and current, resident is perhaps former President Barack Obama and his family. With it’s beautiful landscape, diverse restaurants, and cultural history, Kenwood remains one of Chicago’s must-see neighborhoods.
