EXPLORE CHICAGO’S NORTH CENTER NEIGHBORHOOD
This historically rich neighborhood is bordered by the North Branch of the Chicago River on the west side and the Ravenswood Industrial Corridor to the east side, offering residents a great mix of nature, culture and retail options for leisure. The historic Ravenswood Industrial Corridor has seen a shift over the last few decades into more office locations, restaurants and boutique manufacturers filling the industrial warehouse spaces. The corridor will see more change, as the city has recently approved the Ravenswood Framework portion of Mayor Emanuel’s Industrial Corridor Modernization project. The project’s goal is to maintain the area’s historic charm while promoting the area as a business hub and job center; catering to the growing number of offices, artist studios and small manufacturers that have moved to the neighborhood.
North Center is also home to most of the Roscoe Village community and the newly named St. Ben’s community. Residents enjoy ample transportation options with both the CTA brown line and Metra train stations close by. The neighborhood will also see part of the new 312 RiverRun project, which will stretch two miles along the river connecting the Irving Park, North Center, Avondale and Albany Park neighborhoods.
