EXPLORE CHICAGO’S PILSEN NEIGHBORHOOD
West of Chinatown and north of the Stevenson Expressway, you can find one of the most popular neighborhoods for hip Chicago residents: Pilsen. Historically, the neighborhood has been the starting point for many different waves of European immigrants. Most recently, Mexican immigrants predominantly populated the neighborhood, which makes the neighborhood a great destination for tacos, as well as unique cultural activities, like the Mexican American Museum of Art.
The area is especially lively in the summer when you can find a different street festival almost every weekend. Some of the festivals showplace the strong Mexican presence in the neighborhood with festivals that pay homage to Mexican cuisine and culture, like the Mole de Mayo fest, Taco Fest, and the Michelada Fest, to name a few. The affordable cost of living, easy transportation into downtown, and cultural influences has attracted many young artists and professionals to the area over the last decade.
